Forty-three years ago... a few lads from Ballinhassig, Ballygarvan and Meadstown tired of playing against each other, entered a team in the newly formed West Cork Soccer League.

Twenty years later... another bunch of lads tired of playing on local farmers fields, had the fortitude and bravery to purchase some farmland in Gortnaglough and developed a couple of football pitches.

Another twenty years on... and today those same pitches play host to twenty-two teams competing in men’s, women’s, girls’ and boys’ soccer leagues.

Now... in the same spirit as the lads all those years ago, Ballinhassig AFC are delighted to announce that we embark on a new ambition. To leave something for the next generation and to cater for our growing membership, we are planning for the development of an Astro Turf Soccer Pitch.
